The site captain is assigned to oversee an ongoing youth voter registration drive at a specific university in Brooklyn, the Bronx, or Manhattan from September to Election Day 2008.

POSITION: Voter Registration Site Captain


Job Description:

- The site captain is assigned to oversee an ongoing youth voter registration drive at a specific university in Brooklyn, the Bronx, or Manhattan from September to Election Day 2008. Help get out the youth vote on your campus and gain valuable leadership experience working with a growing national youth movement!

Responsibilities

- Organize and manage all events at their site (including canvassing and simple registration table operations)

- Attend weekly Youth Voter Collective meetings on Thursdays at 5pm

- Report site tallies and plan events with YVC coordinators


Qualifications:

- Strong verbal and written communication skills required

- Self-motivated; can plan/implement assigned tasks in timely manner

- Bilingual abilities a plus


Other Information:

- Good way to gain basic organizing and non-profit experience

- College students encouraged to apply to establish a site at their schools

- School credit is available
