On June 29th, the 39th Venceremos Brigade traveled to Cuba to affirm our Constitutional rights to travel, to free speech and assembly, for cultural exchange, and to see Cuba with their own eyes. US travel restrictions imposed upon citizens and residents have for the most part banned our right to travel to Cuba by forbidding us from spending money in getting to or while in Cuba. These extreme restrictions apply to no other country in the world. I support the efforts of Representative Charles Rangel and Senator Michael Enzi in authoring legislation to lift the travel restrictions. And I support the public return of the Venceremos Brigade on July 14th in openly challenging the US travel ban.
