Dear Readers: About this Special Commemorative Edition of Dynamic

Top level Dynamic Magazine Fall 2008, Issue 20

As the Greek philosopher, Heraclitus, famously said, "the only constant is change."

Frederick Engels agreed: "everything is fluid, is constantly changing."

And so it is with Dynamic. It has existed for decades, but has, along with the times, constantly changed. It was its own publication, then a newspaper supplement to the People's Weekly World, and then a glossy magazine. Now it is time for Dynamic to change again.

Beginning in 2009, Dynamic will move forward with plans to expand and improve our web presence and evolve into a primarily online publication. In the next few months we will be completely redesigning and upgrading the website. We are also planning to release an annual print compilation featuring a collection of each year's best writing along with artwork and photographs. Our aim is to grow bigger and broader than is currently possible with our quarterly print edition.

So this is only a change in form, not essence. Dynamic will continue on in a better format more suited to the current realities. When the magazine was first launched, the internet was unthinkable. But our generation has grown up in a time of unprecedented technological innovation, that in many ways is also quite revolutionary.

It is our hope that the new website will help to usher in a new era of progressive youth-oriented journalism and that Dynamic will be at the forefront.

Due to these changes, we will no longer be taking individual print subscription orders. But we will still be offering bundles of this special commemorative edition. You can use the form enclosed on the inside of the back cover or place orders online at www.dynamicmag.org. Also, if you have a current subscription that does not run out until sometime in 2009, please email us at dynamic@yclusa.org.

In the meantime, keep updated with our unique coverage of world affairs, politics, and arts and culture by visiting our blog at: dynamicmagazine.blogspot.com
