Both the House and Senate have introduced non-binding resolutions voicing opposition to Bush\'s proposed surge in Iraq. There has been a lot of debate around the effectiveness of these resolutions in helping to end the war on Iraq. What do you think?
The House just passed a bill that would fund the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan but put a binding date for troop withdraw from Iraq by August 2008. The Senate passed a similar bill that set a non-binding date for troop withdraw by March 31st, 2008. Should we support these bills even though they don't cut the funding for the war?
The DREAM Act would give undocumented students a path to citizenship, provide the means to obtain a Social Security number and work, and be able to apply for student loans to pay for college. However, there are problems with the bill such as requiring undocumented students to complete two years of college without access to grants like Pell Grants or having to serve in the military for two years to gain their citizenship.
